A few words of wisdom to the younger generation. Live your life! It's a precious thing that few of us really value until we get much older. Me, I'm 46 now, and have lately been strongly depressed over the overt disregard for all the wonderful blessings I have had in my life. Tragically, at all major crossroads in my life, I made all the wrong decisions. My biggest  problem and best friend: Procrastination! I never put in ANY  effort in pursuing my dreams. In fact, I never put much stock in having a dream. I had always been content with just getting by. Now I'm middled-aged. I feel useless and unaccomplished, sitting here , at a keyboard, at 5:41a.m. in a tiny boxed-sized apartment. That's why young people, if you have a talent, and/or a dream, GET OFF YOUR DUFF AND PURSUE IT! Don't let the doubters get you down! Avoid them like the plague!! Do what you were meant to do and just live!!

I read the weblog of a young woman on interracial dating and thought I would throw in my own 15 cents. I have never dated a white woman, but I have nothing against interracial dating. All woman are special and beautiful. It does not matter the color of your skin. Besides, unless you subscribe to the insane concept of some of being aliens,  we all come from one man and one woman, Adam and Eve. In fact, I will admit I have been strongly attracted to a particular woman of caucausian heritige for several years, and I'm pleased to admit race has played very little in the reason we never, "hooked up", so-to-speak. We all have a window of time to act when the sparks first fly between two people. I could tell she liked me. A lot. But, I'm slow, old-fashioned kind of, so when I did not leap, she turned her attention somewhere else. Was it because she was white? No, not really. I'm more than a few years older than she is. But she is great. I often ponder, if I could go back in time, would I make a move. I do not know, but today we are plutonically close, and I like and respect our friendship.

The privilege of watching a new day coming into existence is awesome. Add a cup of warm green tea and you are on to something.
